Pump is a song by Valentino Khan, released May 26, 2017. It is a song that regularly appears in the Mafia City advertisements, to a point where it is now basically the main theme of them all.
It is likely the theme (or leitmotif, if we're trying to sound cool) of the Boss, given that the song appears usually during times of the character discovering great fortune or power.
The song itself[]
The song Pump, like most of Valentino's works, have a hint of trap and whatever else he makes in the beat. The song itself repeats "I'mma make you pump like that", a-la songs such as "Around the World" by Daft Punk and "Call on Me" by Eric Prydz, but the lyric itself is cut and chopped around throughout the song. The music video is the word "PUMP" flying around, duplicating, and whatever. It is of mention that some parts of the music video can remind people of what happens at the end of winning a round of virtual solitaire.
In the ads[]
The song "Pump" literally appears in the first clip of the Mafia City ads (if you are watching the first Averroes compilation that kickstarted the memery), as it appears when the Boss helps up a crashed pizza delivery man. This song sets the stage for the usage of Pump throughout the advertisements; a song that plays when our protagonists finally achieve the epitome of the (probably) American Dream.
Trivia[]
- Valentino Khan is likely unaware of the song's usage in the advertisements.
- The comments section for "Pump" is now clogged with Mafia City memes due to it's usage, and it is likely embedded into history as one of the newest meme-claimed songs of our time.
